Whispers of Fate by Yumnah F. Hussain – Book Review – Do you ever just feel like crying for someone because you can’t do anything to help them? That’s exactly how I felt while reading about Thomas. Whispers of Fate is a book revolving around Thomas, a billionaire with a bank balance but loneliest in life. Even after having parents, he still longs to have a home, and a feeling of belongingness.

A quick overview of the story? So due to the sudden death of Oliver, Thomas had to marry Beatrice and she agrees unwillingly for Mars. While Thomas always kept anticipating a change of heart and a little bit of care from Beatrice, all she did was disappoint him and insult him at every point and that’s when my love, Liana entered. Although she’s been a part of Thomas’ life before Beatrice it takes a long while for her to actually come in front of everyone. And DARE I SAY SHE’S THE BEST WOMAN I’VE COME ACROSS.

Such a powerful character I’m enticed by her. Captivated! Enraptured! Bewitched! She’s truly what Thomas deserves! The best! The level of care she has for Thomas, Mars and Ammy is just pure love. Even after all that she’s suffered in her life, it’s amazing how she holds herself up and never falls weak in any situation. Her power is something I’d like to own for myself. Being almost the one on the receiving end, I understand how it feels to be berated as a victim, being treated like a culprit and her strength is something I’m gonna stan for life.

There was a moment when Thomas asked her to teach him for to be merciless, how to be strong, and how to kill someone without getting his hands red, and I’ll be honest, I had never cried for any male lead to the extent I did for him. Throughout the book, he is supposed to be the strong one, a pillar, the strength of his family. But the kind of treatment he got from his family just made me cry so bad. Honestly, no one deserves the kind of treatment he got, the anguish, the hatred, the disrespect, it was too much to bear. It was more like experiencing it myself rather than just reading. All this while, it was only Lia, who felt like the only person to care about this selfless human. It surprises me how can he love so selflessly when all he received was hatred and disrespect. The emotional trauma isn’t going to leave me.

AND THE MOMENT SHE SAYS “HE IS MINE, AND I PERMIT NO HARM TO BEFALL MY OWN” “NO ONE SHALL LAY A FINGER ON HIM” “NO ONE TOUCHES WHAT’S MINE”! I was like SHE IS MY GODDESS! The most ferocious woman I know! Urgghhhhhhhh! I have no idea how am I going to wait so long for the next book. I feel like making a mistake going for the arc coz I’ll have to wait longer for the next book now! T – T

However, I DO NOT DEFINITELY REGRET IT AT THE SAME TIME because adding this amazing book to my To Be Read pile would be an injustice to the book, as there would have been a chance of my procrastinating to read it for a long while, which, now I definitely do not want!

Oh and need I tell you how much I hate Beatrice? Trust me, as much as I loved her at the start of the book, 1/3 of the book, she turned out to be the worst person I could ever know. Not only she was disrespectful to Thomas but Ammy too and the ending just makes me want to kill her with bare hands. She is truly someone who doesn’t deserve to be called a mother.
