Tum Kaafi Ho by Vishal Watwani and Renu Watwani

Tum Kaafi Ho by Vishal Watwani and Renu Watwani – Tum Kaafi Ho is a contemporary romance podcast/audiobook written by two of the most talented authors I’ve come across. The story revolves around Sammy, a wedding planner and Kabir the famous divorce lawyer; one who loves to celebrate weddings and one who is known to break them. Both with their own reasons to pursue their careers, lead a very satisfying life, except for one common factor, their own marriage. It’s interesting to see how his grandma and her mother are hell bent on getting them married. It’s actually such a fun experience, with Dadi being my most favorite characters.

Tum Kaafi Ho by Vishal Watwani, Renu Watwani

It’s been years I heard something in Hindi (reading to humse na ho payegi) and this book was much more than just Hindi, it’s that typical stereotypical mix of Hindi and Punjabi. But let me tell you that is not how we speak Punjabi, people really need to let go of their stereotype of Punjabi being spoken like broken English.

Coming back, the story starts with Kabir and Sammy getting into an accident and being punished to volunteer in gurudwara. ONE THING I COULD NEVER FORGET IS HIS DADI BEING ASKED OUT EVEN IN THIS AGE BY A POLICE OFFICER? XD That part was totally my fav.

Its interesting how people can fall in love in spec of a second and how, no matter how hard they try, they can’t love a person even after years of being together. This story covers almost all kinds of relationships, from broken family to happy, from not believing in love to falling so hard, it’s just so good to hear it, especially with the narrators doing their job so freaking well. Truly, you can’t help but love the way narrators narrate the story, it feels like watching a movie without actors. Like I do not know how to explain it but yeah, it’s just a perfect experience.

I seriously do not want to give you any spoilers but can’t help but share it out with you. I love the way Kabir loves his grandma, his mother, and how cute he becomes with Sammy. Their little banter, the cute moments, their adventure trip, their “Oh I don’t like you” nature but still doing everything to make the other person feel better. UGGHHHH utter love!!!!

And to talk about Sammy, she’s a sweetheart for sure. Her opinion on marriage is so pure, her thoughts, her mindset, it’s so pure and loving. There was this moment where she bought this house for her parents and I tell you that moment just made me feel like “this is what I aspire to do in life”. I mean, it’s not like you feel jelo of a fictional character but it’s just that anticipation of feeling that proud moment for once in life. That hits so much different, truly.

I would say, by hearing this book, you will be doing your mood a favor ‘cause the lightheartedness of the story while still maintaining its strong impact will make you fall in love with it even more. As much the story, I’m in love with the narrators.

I think as much the story plays a crucial role, for an audiobook, narrators play an equal role. If they do their work perfectly, one can even enjoy a bland story (personal opinion). And the narrators of Tum Kaafi Ho, Kaushik Ramachandran, Pallavi Bharti, Dishi Duggal, Babla Kochar, Shruti Bhola, Surjan Singh, and Gunjan Saini did such a commendable job. I am definitely adding the book to my re-hearing list. And you people, if you guys understand Hindi, you definitely should not miss out on this one. Here’s how you can access the book, just tap here and boom you have the book.

Also, do I have to say it again? DM me on Instagram once you are done with the book to let me know what you think about this Kabir and Sammy. I would surely love to hear from you.

Till then, check out more reviews here.
