It’s An Accident: Book Review – Well, when I’m onto writing book reviews, how can I not write about my all-time favourite, “It’s an Accident” written by @chocolatyangels on Wattpad? Although it’s been years since I first read this book, this is such a beautiful story and the characters are so beautifully pictured that it’s hard not to fall for them. Talking about the characters, the female protagonist of the story, Astrea Destiny Faith, is a cute and bubbly girl who values her family a lot. Meanwhile, Gouenji Shuuya, the male protagonist, is a rich and arrogant child prodigy. He is the epitome of perfection who has a solution to every problem one could ever face.
The story revolves around both these people but it not just focuses on them but their friends as well. It is one such book that gives you hope to solve any and every problem and lets you have hope in love and friendship as well. The plot opens with Destiny coming to New York from Boston for her last year in college. Both Gouenji and Destiny meet on the plane, but she is unknown to him and his cousin, who, in a teasing way, misbehaves with Destiny. Although it could be a serious situation, the way the writer explains the scene, it’s hard not to laugh at the situation. As Gouenji is the “prodigy” who notices everything around him, he recognizes her but says nothing.
Later, they accidentally bump into each other, resulting in an accidental kiss. Gouenji, the women hater, knows it was a sheer accident but still badmouths Destiny, which instigates her a lot. But then again, thanks to the writer, it gives a fun and twisting start to their story. Later in the story, there are several meetings and incidents where she’s truly proven as the most oblivious girl, who does not even know about the rich and popular people in her college.
The hilarious thing about the story is that Destiny is such an innocent girl who only knows or realizes what happens with and in her life but will notice even a little change in her friend’s behaviour, like G and Kidou getting awkward around each other, Daniel having a girlfriend, Aram being secretly in love with a girl and much more instances like this. But until Gouenji says it out, she does not realize how madly they both are in love with each other, even when all their friends, both their parents and literally every person around here is screaming how badly Gouenji is in love with her.
Until the very end, the number of events happening amongst them, it is very interesting how he is whipped with her but she’s so dense and thinks he hates her. Also, not to forget Dannon, one of the major characters is just love. The cute little kid owns the heart of the reader in his introductory chapter. At a point, he becomes one of the many reasons for Gouenji and Astrea coming together. Yes, at moments you may feel like “How can this be possible” “How can this happen in real” “Does this even make sense?” but hey, might I remind you this isn’t real but a fictional story?
There’s a lot to the story which is hard to explain here. Despite the positives or negatives of the story, I would highly recommend you read it any day. To be very honest, it’s an accident that I came across this book but it is a beautiful accident that made my heart go to la la land.
