The Soulburn Talisman by David Mcilroy: Book Review

The Soulburn Talisman by David Mcilroy: Book Review – The book “The Soulburn Talisman” was written by David Mcilroy, an Irish author. It is about three students who find themselves on an unexpected adventurous ride to a world unknown to humans. Their world – well as the book description says – literally turns upside down when they enter the mysterious portal on the mountainside where their school went for the trip. And honestly, I can’t even deny that. It was one hell of a ride for sure.

The Soulburn Talisman by David Mcilroy - Book Review

Have you ever felt like you start a book but the unexpected adventure makes it so interesting that you can’t just bring yourself to finish it within a day? I mean, I can’t really word it out how I felt while reading the book but it was definitely the most exciting period. And the author was so sweet to let me take the time I did to finish it all. In the start, I might have read it slow, right book at the worst possible time. But as I went into the plot, it was hard to forget the plot even for a single moment. It was like I had the story revolving in my head all the time. At some point, Brooke, Dale, and Charlie even reminded me of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It was just perfect.

To talk about the plot of the book, the book starts with Brooke finding herself lost in the mountainside and somehow ending up in the portal with Dale and losing Charlie in the process. It, then, moves ahead with their encounter with some creatures called ghouls, fairies, bandits, woodsgirl, seer, trolls, and I have even lost count for what else. All I remember is how interesting it was to see the most unexpected stuff ever. Like in the entire book, you can never guess what you might come across in the very next scene. IT WAS WONDERFULLLLLLLL!

The book will require all your attention to get through it and understand what exactly is happening otherwise you won’t even register what happened and how.

And you know the best part? The book is one of the best reads for children. They’re gonna love it as much as the adults.

Each and every character in the book is so well described, may it be the seer Jayne or the woodsgirl Willow of Nymm or the trolls like Fungus or Amoogus. And not to forget, DECYMERO, A SHEER REMINDER OF VOLDEMORT, the one who shall not be named. XD

All in all, it’s the most amazing read I have picked this year and will definitely recommend everyone to pick it at least once. You are never going to forget the time you spend on reading the book, and will surely thank me like I thank David for letting me in on the ARC team, even though it took me forever to finally get through with it after so long.
