Life – A Rollercoaster Ride: Book Review

Life – A Rollercoaster Ride: Book Review – A book about a girl named Maya, and her life journey, challenges and hardships, only at the age of 18, Life – A Rollercoaster Ride is a perfect book to go through a spree of emotions. You’ll see a glimpse of her early life and how her life took a 360-degree turn in New York.

Maya James, an 18-year-old Indian girl, moves to New York to study psychology. But little did she know what the new city had in its store. Losing her parents to an accident was just the beginning of a tragic Roller coaster Ride. Every time she sees a ray of hope, it gets shattered into a million pieces. Parties are fun and a great distraction. Maya thought the same. What could possibly go wrong at a party, right? If only she’d known that someone was lurking in the shadows waiting to strike. That one night changed everything. That night was just the beginning; the shadows never left, leaving Maya to live in a constant fear of death. Any day could be her last, and she didn’t even know why.

Life - A Rollercoaster Ride

What I think about the book?

The author did a commendable job writing the book (yes, some parts could be improved, but then again, which author’s first book is “perfect”?). The book starts with her moving to New York and ends with her TRYING to live a peaceful life. Crazy how I’m saying ‘a peaceful life’ with her being in a relationship with a mafia boss. 😭🤣 But damn, if Liam isn’t the only admired man in the entire book. Lol, maybe Dan too, he’s sweet toooooo. I think I am going crazy as I am moving ahead with the book lol.

Anyway, on a serious note, this book is an incredible creation by Author Ruchi, a.k.a. Nupur Jha. As said earlier, the book revolves around Maya’s life, how one night, one party, one moment just spoiled her entire life and almost ended her inner self. I really don’t wanna drop any spoilers, and it’ll be more interesting if you just give it a read instead of me wording things out for you guys. It’s incredible how she handled things after the incident, and one of the most commendable things I found about Maya was her guts to actually face it all with a brave front, while people were ready to drag her down, even below hell.

I truly admire her, like literally stan her for being able to stand in front of her molester and confronting him, taking another round of harshness just to get his confession, being able to stand straight and not give up or fall weak. You can say it took me back to a core memory, and I was like, to this day, I cannot do what she was able to do. But then again, I think it was because this was a book and while that was my reality. But honestly, I felt something in me healing along with Maya when she ended things once and for all.

AND, LIAM!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! It’s so bad to know the author and to have heard so much about the book because you keep hearing about the book and see how perfect certain characters are, and when you read, you just keep waiting for them to meet, and you just spend half of the book waiting for them to meet, but nope! Nada! You just keep anticipating their meet-cute, and it never happens. 🤣

Like for so many chapters, I was like, they’ll meet now, they’ll meet in the next chapter, but no! It was just another moment of waiting. Only I know how I controlled myself from not jumping to the next chapter to see when they’ll meet. XD

Anyway, their meeting was almost like a fated moment (again, controlling myself from dropping any spoilers LOL!) Then there’s Dan! The bodyguard and somehow the only friend of Liam, he’s so Rhys coded for real. ToT If only Liam was a woman, I would have actually called Dan as Rhys, LOL! The perfect bodyguard, perfect friend and the perfect companion. Someone whom Liam can trust with blind eyes. One more commendable thing that I found about Liam was his respect for his people. He actually said something close to “You cannot call my men minions. They work for me, and you will have to respect them”, and damn that was HAWT!!! Like, not just a protective boyfriend but a good boss too. Yes bish!! That’s what we stan!!!

Honestly, the reader in me is loving December coz of all the right books that I am getting to read! I feel so glad to have had my hands on such a beautiful work! <3

If you haven’t read it yet, I am telling you, you’re missing a big time. You MUST read this book. (Just a suggestion, do text the author when you get started with the book. Click here to find her instagram.)
